Claremore, Okla. - Midland University softball dropped two games verses Rogers State University as they opened their 2013 campaign on Saturday.

"We played a quality team today, who is now 11-0," said Keith Kramme, Midland University softball head coach. "I'm disappointed with the loss, but I thought we did a lot of good things considering we haven't been outside much and it's our first game. We found some things out about our team today and I saw a lot of things to be excited about as the season continues."

In game one, the Warriors fell, 5-1. Midland recorded five hits in the loss. Kayla Ritzdorf went 2-4 to lead the Warriors, while Nicole Andrews' RBI drove Jennie Sayker in for the lone score. Sarah Leimser pitched a complete six innings and earned the loss giving up eight hits and five runs, four of them earned.

In game two, Rogers State defeated Midland, 8-2. The Warriors recorded six hits in the loss. Sammy Hislop went 2-4 with an RBI double. Nicole Andrews went 2-3 while Kayla Ritzdorf and Emma Aschenbrenner each had one hit. Sammy Hislop earned the loss, giving up 10 hits, eight runs, walked four, and struck out three.

Midland University is 0-2 on the season. The Warriors will face (RV) William Woods University for another double header on Sunday, March 3. Start time will be 11:00 a.m. with game two following.
