Baldwin City, Kan. - The Midland University men's soccer team beat MidAmerica Nazarene University 3-2 in non conference play in the Baker Invitational. The Warriors and Pioneers engaged in a back and forth battle with Andy Jones scoring each of his goals within three minutes of Pioneer goals in the 29th and 42nd minutes. Midland's Ben Hutton ultimately landed the game winning goal well into the 87th minute.
"This was a great win for the program," said Sean Fraser, Midland University interim head men's soccer coach. "Coming from behind twice to win shows our team's perseverance."
Andy Jones had two goals with an assist from Alan Craig. Ben Hutton scored the game winner and Lewis Wilcox had 90 minutes in goal with four saves.
Midland will conclude the Baker Invitational as they take on No.13 Baker University at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. The Warriors are now 3-2-1
