WICHITA, Kan. – Midland University's Elyse Strebel and Tessa Singleton have earned the KCAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards, respectively, the conference announced on Monday.
The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 6-12 by a vote of conference Sports Information Directors.
Strebel helped lead Midland to a pair of home wins as the Warriors (3-1) improved to 3-0 in KCAC play. The freshman scored eight goals and recorded a pair of assists. Strebel leads Midland with 12 goals this season which ranks fifth in the KCAC. Her 15 total points also ranks fifth in the conference.
Singleton earned both saves in goal for Midland last week while recording 17 total saves. Her 32 saves on the year rank third in the KCAC and 15th in the NAIA. Singleton has been the winning goalie in each of the Lady Warriors' victories this season.
Midland returns to action for a non-conference game against Cornell College on Wednesday. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Heedum Field in Fremont.
