Sports Medicine

 

The Midland University sports medicine staff offers pregame preparation, medical attention, recovery and rehabilitation to Warrior athletes. With three full-time Certified Athletic Trainers and 12 -15 student athletic trainers, athletes have access to an excellent support staff for both practices and games. The Midland University sports medicine team is dedicated to providing the safest and most efficient health care possible. All evaluations, treatment, and rehabilitation is treated on a specialized and individual basis, considering the unique needs of the athlete and the demands of his or her sport. All-in-all, Midland University's sports medicine team strives to return athletes to optimal performance levels in the quickest and safest manner possible.

Facilities

Midland University provides a primary sports medicine complex with satellite facilities located in the Watchhorn Football Complex and the Event Center. The main complex is stocked with all modalities and three whirlpools for hot/cold therapy. It also offers ice, ultrasound, moist heat packs and electrotherapy. All satellite athletic training rooms are equipped with emergency supplies, biohazard container and supplies, taping tables, ice, ice coolers, and ice bags.

Human Performance Major

Midland University offers a human performance major with a minor in athletic training. Through the Midland University sports medicine wing, students are able to gain hands-on experience working with athletes. The interactive education puts students in the sporting arena and equips them with active knowledge and experience they can carry into the working world.
