Nate Hoeckelman enters his first season as the women's lacrosse head coach. He comes to Midland with more than a decade of coaching experience, most recently leading the Lincoln Rampage to back-to-back Nebraska High School Lacrosse Association (NHSLA) Championships.
Hoeckelman joins Midland after a dominant, turnaround head coaching stint with the NHSLA's Lincoln Rampage. Inheriting a second-year, 0-17 squad in 2009, he led the Rampage to a 14-3 season in his first year as head coach. In three years with the Rampage, he posted a 47-8 record with two championships.
Prior to his time with Lincoln, Hoeckelman coached college-level lacrosse for more than 10 years, holding coaching positions at University of Nebraska -Lincoln, Missouri S&T, Washington University and Lindenwood University.
At Midland, Hoeckelman will head a women's lacrosse program that enters just its third season of varsity competition. As part of an institution-wide commitment to providing expanded opportunities for students, women's lacrosse is one of 11 varsity sports that has been added to campus since 2009.
