Assistant Coach
2nd Season

Ken Misfeldt, a 20-year veteran of the college coaching ranks, is in his second season as the assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at Midland University. Misfeldt came to Midland after serving four years as the head coach at Dana College, a former GPAC member which closed its doors in the summer of 2010.

Prior to his time at Dana, Misfeldt was an assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator for three seasons at Iowa Western Community College. At IWCC, he recruited or coached 21 players who went on to play at the Division I or professional level while helping lead the Reivers to 129 wins in 167 games and three straight Top 20 rankings. Highlighting his stay at IWCC was the 2005 team's 49-13 mark and a third-place finish at the Juco World Series.

Misfeldt was the head baseball coach at Mount St. Clare College (now called Ashford University) in Clinton, IA from 1997 to 2001. At Mount St. Clare, Misfeldt guided an infant program to its first-ever post-season appearance in 1999. A year later, his MSC ball club went a step farther by setting a school record for conference wins (11) and qualifying for an NAIA Regional Tournament for the first and only time in that program's history.

From 1993 to1997, Misfeldt was an assistant baseball coach at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA. At Northern Iowa, Misfeldt helped lead the 1996 squad to its first-ever appearance in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The following season, he helped the Panthers repeat that accomplishment during, what was then, a school-record 32-win season. While at UNI, Misfeldt recruited and coached 15 players who went on to play professional baseball.

Misfeldt began his coaching career in 1991 at Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. He helped the Wildcats to back-to-back 25-win seasons while earning a master's degree in sports management.

Misfeldt -- a native of Arlington, NE – was a shortstop and pitcher on his home town's Class B Legion state championship team in 1976. He played collegiately at Hutchinson Community College and at Northwest Missouri State University. He went on to play 10 seasons of semi-pro baseball in Arlington, Nebraska City, Lincoln and Columbus. His connection base with coaches and players -- especially those in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa -- will continue to play an important role in the Warriors' quest for success.

Coach Misfeldt and his wife, Debbie, have four daughters -- Molly, Meggie, Morgan and Mattie. They are also the proud grandparents of Addisyn (4) and Kyler (3).
