Warriors Drop Weekend Series at Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Midland University traveled to Jamestown, North Dakota, over the weekend for a two-game series. The Warriors fell to the Jimmies in both contests, with Jamestown claiming a 5-0 win Friday and a 4-1 victory Saturday.

Friday: Jamestown 5, Midland 0

The Jimmies got on the board late in the first period with a goal at the 15:20 mark, giving them a 1-0 lead after one.

After a scoreless second period, Jamestown broke the game open in the third. The Jimmies scored three goals—at the 4:15 mark, on a power play at 7:03, and again at 9:09—to push the lead to 4-0. They capped off the night with a final goal at 18:19, handing Midland a 5-0 loss.

Jamestown held a slight edge in shot attempts, 38-25. Liam Tereposky played the full 60 minutes in goal for Midland, recording 33 saves.

Saturday: Jamestown 4, Midland 1

The Jimmies carried their momentum into Saturday, opening the game with three goals in the first period—at 3:29, 4:30, and 18:12—to take a 3-0 lead.

Jamestown added another goal early in the second period at the 3:04 mark to make it 4-0.

Midland responded in the third with a goal by Albin Augustsson, assisted by John Dube. However, the Jimmies held the Warriors scoreless for the remainder of the game, handing them a 4-1 loss.

Jamestown outshot Midland 38-30. Tereposky again played the full 60 minutes in net, making 34 saves.

Midland (1-5) will take a break from competition before returning home to host McKendree University on Oct. 10 and 11. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. both nights at Sidner Ice Arena in Fremont, Nebraska.
