Bio

Jan Dam was named the head men’s hockey coach following the 2021-22 season in which he served as the interim head coach. He joined the Midland program in 2020, serving as a graduate assistant.

In addition to coaching the Warriors, Coach Dam has served as the Director of Player Development for the Fremont Flyers and was the head coach of the Flyers’ high school travel team in 2021-22.

Originally from Liberec, Czech Republic, Dam played hockey in his home country before joining the El Paso Rhinos of the WSHL. He then helped establish the ACHA program at the University of Texas at El Paso before moving to Nebraska to work with the Fremont Flyers organization.

In 2020, Dam graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor's in Kinesiology before graduating from Midland in 2022 with a Master's in Learning and Talent Development. Outside of coaching and academics, Jan and his wife Ali take care of their daughter Lennon.
