Bio

Shea Bennett, a part of the Midland Baseball staff since 2017, was named the interim head coach in 2023-24 before earning the title of head coach before the 24-25 season. After two seasons as a graduate assistant, he was named a full-time assistant in 2019.

 

Coach Bennett was a four-year player for the Warriors prior to his coaching career. He has earned his Bachelor of Arts in Human Performance with a concentration in Fitness and Sports Management, and a Master of Science in Adult and Organizational Learning from Midland University. As a player, Bennett appeared in 28 games as a pitcher and was a part of three national tournament teams in 2014, 2016, and 2017. During his senior season, he had 10 starts on the mound, going 6-6 with his biggest win coming in the GPAC championship game to send the Warriors to the National Tournament.

 

Over the summer, Bennett has led many talented college players at all levels. Starting in the summer of 2018, Bennett led the Nebraska Sluggers travel team compiled with some of the state's top high school prospects. For the past 4 summers, Bennett has been the field manager of the Fremont Moo summer collegiate baseball organization. Bennett led the Moo to the playoffs in 2019 and led the team to the Expedition League Championship in 2020. He was named Coach of the Year following the championship season.
