Warriors Finish Ninth at Doane Spring Invite

LINCOLN, Neb. – Midland University traveled to Lincoln earlier this week to compete in the Doane Spring Invite, hosted by Doane University at Highlands Golf Course on Tuesday and Mahoney Golf Course on Wednesday. The Warriors opened the tournament in seventh place out of 19 teams at 19-over par but slipped two spots in the final round to finish ninth overall at 35-over.

Janlo Zaayman led Midland, carding a 1-over 73 with three birdies in Tuesday's opening round before shooting a 5-over 75 in the second round. He finished tied for 29th out of 105 golfers with a 6-over 148.

Trevin Cunningham was the next-best finisher for the Warriors, posting a 5-over 77 in the first round and a 2-over 72 in the second for a 7-over 149, tying for 38th place. Close behind was Cole Dryak, who shot rounds of 78 and 76 to finish at 12-over 154, tied for 54th.

Brady Davis also finished at 12-over 154 to tie for 54th place after recording an eagle on the par-5 No. 11 in the opening round and shooting a 9-over 81.

Rounding out Midland's lineup were Isaiah Weber and Gunnar Ray. Weber posted rounds of 79 and 76, including an eagle on the par-5 No. 15, to finish at 13-over 155 and tie for 57th. Ray competed as an individual and finished tied for 69th at 16-over 158.

The Warriors will next compete at the BCU Spring Match Play event on March 30-31 in Sioux City, Iowa.
