Warriors Sweep Conference Weekly Honors

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Heart of America Athletic Conference, along with presenting sponsor Tarkett Sports, has announced its Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week. Midland University swept the awards, with Lawson Kopecky earning HAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and Asher Thomas earning HAAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Kopecky, a freshman from Lincoln, Nebraska, led the Warriors with 11 goals this week. After going for four goals and four assists against Ottawa, he set a new career-high with 7 goals against Missouri Valley. For the week, he finished with 15 points, converting on 27.5% of his shots, as Midland went 2-0.

Thomas, a senior from Denver, Colorado, set a new program record for groundballs in a game with 18 against Ottawa. He followed up that performance with 10 groundballs in a win over Missouri Valley. For the week, he helped guide Midland to two wins and was a key cog in defense that allowed just one goal.
