Warriors Place Eighth at GPAC Indoor Championships
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Midland University returned to action over the weekend at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Indoor Championships in Sioux Center, Iowa. The Warriors placed eighth as a team, recorded multiple top-10 individual finishes, and had several athletes earn all-conference honors.
In the triple jump, Jonathan Edberg placed ninth with a leap of 13.29 meters.
The Warriors had two top-10 finishers in the high jump. Edberg cleared 1.89 meters to finish seventh, while Brenden Walton placed 10th at 1.84 meters.
In the 60-meter dash, Ja'Myri Bernard narrowly missed out on the finals. He placed 10th in prelims with a time of 7.09.
Braden Taylor turned in a strong performance in the 1,000 meters, placing 10th in 2:37.51.
Koen Steenblok was the first to cross in the 800 meters, winning the individual title and setting a meet record with a time of 1:53.62. His performance earned him all-conference honors.
In the 600 meters, Chris Medlock placed 10th with a time of 1:25.26.
Raheem Richards added another top-10 finish for Midland, placing 10th in the 400 meters in 51.00 seconds.
In the 200 meters, Jameson Painter finished seventh in 22.90 seconds, joining Steenblok as an all-conference selection.
Up next for Midland will be the 2026 NAIA Indoor Championships, which will be held March 5-7 in Gainesville, Florida.
