Atwater Earns All-American Honors as Warriors Wrap Up Outdoor Championships

MARION, Ind. – Midland University wrapped up its 2025 outdoor campaign at the NAIA Men's Track & Field National Championships this week, held on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University. The Warriors earned a pair of All-American honors from senior Robert Atwater and placed 41st in the team standings with 7 points.

Atwater highlighted the meet with top-eight finishes in two events. He earned All-American status in the long jump with a mark of 7.44 meters, placing fifth overall on Thursday. Later that day, he returned to the field in the high jump, clearing 2.01 meters to finish sixth and claim his second All-American accolade of the championship.

On Friday, Atwater narrowly missed a third All-American honor. He cleared 4.75 meters in the pole vault to tie for ninth but was edged out on a judge's decision. He closed out his busy week with a 19th-place finish in the triple jump, leaping 14.07 meters.

Midland's meet began on Wednesday with Kenicious Limo placing 15th in the 10,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 31:11.84. Also competing on day one, the 4x800-meter relay team of Braden Taylor, Henri Stoeckermann, Koen Steenblok, and Lucas Hjortkjaer placed 17th with a time of 7:53.78.

The University of British Columbia claimed the team championship, taking home the NAIA Red Banner.

Midland's performance caps off a strong outdoor season with individual highlights and several top marks in the program history books.
