During his collegiate career, he was an integral part of four national championship teams and earned All-American honors three times. He graduated with a degree in Strength & Conditioning.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Garrett served as a graduate assistant for the powerlifting program for two years, helping the Warriors secure additional national titles in 2022 and 2023. His contributions during this time solidified Midland's reputation as a powerhouse in collegiate powerlifting.
Following his time at Midland, Garrett returned to Texas, where he expanded his involvement in the powerlifting community by organizing and setting up national powerlifting events, including the prestigious World Bench Press Championship in Austin, Texas, in 2024.
