Bio

Natalie Thomas joined the Midland University women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in the spring of 2026.

A native of Mexico, Missouri, Thomas brings experience from both the NAIA and NCAA Division II levels as a student-athlete and coach. She played collegiately at William Woods University and Ashland University, while also competing in track and field at William Woods as a javelin thrower. There, she earned NAIA All-American honors and qualified for the national championships four times.

Thomas earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from William Woods in 2024 before continuing her education at Ashland, where she completed her MBA in 2026. While serving as a graduate assistant with the Eagles, she contributed to a nationally ranked program that advanced to the NCAA Division II Round of 16 and captured a Great Midwest Athletic Conference championship.

In her role at Ashland, Thomas was involved in all aspects of the program, including on-court coaching, guard development, opponent scouting, and film breakdown. She also helped develop practice plans and training programs while assisting with recruiting operations, travel coordination, and donor engagement initiatives.

During her time on staff, Thomas stepped into a unique role, rejoining the active roster in her final semester to provide depth as the team navigated injuries.
