Midland Duo Begin Spring at Friends Invitational
WICHITA, Kan. – Midland University returned to competition this week for the first time since the fall semester. The Warriors sent two golfers to compete as individuals at the Friends Women's Invitational in Wichita, Kansas.
Junior Isabel Brown and freshman Tessa Nicholson represented Midland in a field of 32 golfers at the par-71 Tallgrass Country Club.
Brown led the way for the Warriors, opening with a 43-over 114. She improved in the second round with a 36-over 107, highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 18th hole. Brown finished tied for 22nd place with a two-round total of 79-over 221.
Nicholson posted a 48-over 119 in the opening round and a 47-over 118 in the second. She finished 27th overall with a two-round total of 95-over 237.
Midland returns to competition April 7-8 at the Concordia Spring Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska.
