Midland Wraps Season at GPAC Championships
DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. — Midland University closed out its season Tuesday at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championships at Dakota Dunes Country Club. The Warriors battled through challenges during the three-round, two-day tournament, ultimately finishing tied for 11th place with a team score of 366 over par. Teams played 27 holes on Monday and 27 holes on Tuesday due to the weather.
Midland was led by Callie Maguire, who placed 43rd in a field of 53 golfers. She posted rounds of 26 over, 20 over, and 21 over to finish at 67 over par. Maguire showed improvement after her opening round, trimming six strokes in the second round while carding a birdie in each of her first two rounds.
Isabel Brown finished 47th with rounds of 33 over, 35 over, and 24 over. She recorded birdies in the first and third rounds and improved by 11 strokes in her final 18 holes to finish at 92 over par.
Brynn Knaus finished tied for 48th at 92 over par. After opening with rounds of 31 over and 47 over, she rebounded with a 23-over final round.
Tessa Nicholson rounded out the Midland lineup, placing 50th at 106 over par with rounds of 35 over, 33 over, and 38 over. Nicholson also recorded a birdie on the par-4 11th hole during her second round.
