Warriors Sweep GPAC Weekly Wrestling Honors

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), along with presenting sponsor Hauff Mid-America Sports, announced its men's and women's wrestlers of the week for contests played November 3-9, 2025. Midland University swept the honors with Nate McDonald earning GPAC Men's Wrestler of the Week honors and Maci Avila being named the GPAC Women's Wrestler of the Week.

McDonald, a junior from North Bend, Nebraska, went 4-0 at the Salute to Service meet over the weekend, winning the 184-pound division. He had wins by tech. fall, pin, and a major decision to reach the finals. In the final bout, he won a 5-2 decision over 21st-ranked Jeremiah Voliva of Avila.

Avila, a junior from Henderson, Nevada, opened the season with a runner-up finish at the Waldorf Open. Competing at 138 lbs., she had four wins by fall to advance to the championship bout. In the title bout, she ultimately lost via technical fall to Skye Realin of Iowa (#9 ranked in NCAA at 131 lbs.).
