FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University hosted Bethany College on Saturday evening inside the Fremont Family YMCA. The Warriors dropped the doubles point but rallied in singles play to secure a 4-3 victory over the Swedes.

Zhanxing Yu and Martin Cisneros earned Midland's lone doubles win at No. 2, defeating Dylan Gwilt and Gustavo Cardosa, 6-3.

In singles action, the Warriors claimed victories at No. 1, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6. Phillip Olsson won the battle at the top spot, defeating Francisco Bravo, 6-1, 6-3. At No. 4, Unai Llerena went the distance to beat Cardosa, 2-6, 6-4, 10-3. Yu evened the team score with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Diego Bsereni at No. 5. Angel Bustos clinched the team victory in the final match, topping Gwilt in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.

Midland (2-4) will be off for two weeks before returning to action. The Warriors are scheduled to host McPherson (0-3) on Saturday, Feb. 28, in Fremont.
