Warriors Earn Six All-GPAC Selections, Two Major Awards

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The 2026 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Softball All-Conference Team was announced following a vote by league coaches. Great Plains Athletic Conference champion Midland University was well represented with three All-GPAC First Team selections, three All-GPAC Second Team honorees, one honorable mention selection, and two individual awards.

Mackenzie Groninga, a sophomore from Blair, Nebraska, was named GPAC Pitcher of the Year, while Beth Singleton earned GPAC Coach of the Year honors. Groninga went 12-1 in conference play with 10 complete games and posted a 1.13 ERA. As a team, Midland finished 18-4 in league play to earn a share of the regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament.

Joining Groninga on the All-GPAC First Team were Isabelle Pagan and Alexis Shepherd. Pagan, a senior from Elkhorn, Nebraska, led the team with a .405 batting average and five home runs. Shepherd, a sophomore from Waverly, Nebraska, hit .355 with 12 stolen bases during conference play.

Second Team selections included Emma Hodnet, Jaidan Wehrle, and Campbell Petrick. Hodnet, a senior from Commerce City, Colorado, ranked second on the team with a .391 batting average in GPAC play. Wehrle, a freshman from Battle Creek, Nebraska, hit .378 in her first season as a Warrior during conference action. Petrick, a senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, went 6-3 in the circle with a 2.22 ERA across 72 2/3 innings during league play.

Jayci Reimers, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, earned honorable mention recognition after batting .270 with 11 RBIs in conference play.
