FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University returned to action for the first time this semester, hosting Missouri Valley College at the Fremont Family YMCA. The Warriors took advantage of the Vikings' limited roster, earning a 7-0 victory to open the spring schedule.

Doubles play featured just one match, as Missouri Valley traveled with only two athletes. Graziela Dallagnol and Ai Katsura picked up the win for Midland, defeating Keila Liebenberg and Adriana Barrios, 6-0.

In singles action, Dallagnol earned a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles over Liebenberg. She blanked her opponent 6-0 in the opening set before securing the sweep with a 7-5 win in the second. Katsura followed with a dominant performance at No. 2 singles, defeating Barrios 6-0, 6-0.

Midland (1-0) returns to the Fremont Family YMCA next week to face Bethany College. The Warriors and Swedes are scheduled for a 3 p.m. match on Saturday, Feb. 14.
