FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University hosted Bethany College on Saturday afternoon inside the Fremont Family YMCA, earning a 5-2 victory over the Swedes in women's tennis action.

The Warriors secured the doubles point with wins at all three positions. At No. 1, Graziela Dallagnol and Ai Katsura defeated Ana Sofia Castillo Paz and Helen Harbit, 6-1. Malena Hernandez and Ana Larreal followed with a 6-2 win over Makenna Russom and Karee Adam at No. 2, while Lillie Johnston and Andrea Vasquez completed the sweep with a 6-2 victory against Elena Jundt and Elise Richardson at No. 3.

In singles play, Midland claimed four of six matches. Dallagnol earned a 6-2, 6-4 win over Castillo Paz at No. 1, and Katsura posted a 6-1, 6-2 decision against Russom at No. 2. Larreal topped Harbit, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 3, and Hernandez secured a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Adam at No. 4. Bethany picked up wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

Midland (2-0) will be off for two weeks before returning to action. The Warriors are scheduled to host McPherson (1-1) on Saturday, Feb. 28, in Fremont.
